I started this spring out with a month-long trip to Europe to recover from the stress of over-extending myself with far too much work and far too little creativity.
When I returned I felt a desire to jumpstart my career. I scrapped and gutted my website, launching a new portfolio from scratch. It took 2.5 months to complete.
Following my launch, I applied for close to 40 jobs, finding some unexpected gigs in fun new places. Since then, I've been working for PepsiCo on and off on projects, rebranded David's Studio Apparatus in New York, worked with Nissa's theater company, Special When Lit, continued to work with Convene doing social and branding, and worked on various needs at a firm I consider my family, VGSNY.
Moving forward I have a few exciting announcements. I've accepted a senior designer role with the NFL doing overarching branding for Super Bowl and other major events. (This is also the first full-time job I've accepted since moving to New York, which is a huge step.) My recruiter Caroline has been the most amazing advocate for me in my career since I moved to this city, and I consider her to be a great friend. I am also working with my favorite stationary and paper goods company, Appointed in the coming months to solidify their brand's aesthetics for photography and tabletop lay downs.
I couldn't be more proud of the work I've put in, and couldn't be more thankful for all of you for constantly supporting me emotionally, caffeinating me, and generally being the most amazing community I could ask for. Love you all, and can't wait to show you what these opportunities create.
